    Isn’t that a lot of sugar……?

    • TheNETeam on January 17, 2017 at 10:52 am

      Hi Jan!

Though the carbohydrate content might not qualify this as a ‘low carb’ options, it’s important to note that these are naturally occurring fruit sugars – not added sugars – with the absorption regulating fibre present in the fruits still intact. One of the benefits of smoothies, as opposed to juice, is that the fibre – with its many health benefits – is not removed!

Why not just EAT the fruit….isn’t this the healthiest option..?

      Sugar is sugar, is sugar.
We have to watch our intake regardless of the source.

Does the Phytoberry contain sugar? I seem to recall it’s very sweet.

    • TheNETeam on January 17, 2017 at 12:13 pm

There is a small amount of organic evaporated cane juice (sugar) in a full sized scoop of the Phytoberry; the total carbohydrate count of a full scoop is 8g (including 3g of fibre).

      Thanks!

New to the smoothie scene and wondering what the benefits are for taking this smoothie over others (I know that there are lots to choose from!)? I’ve heard a lot about chia being used. Thoughts? Thank you.

      Hi Liz,

Thanks for your comment! This smoothie offers a high level of antioxidants from all of the berries and cherries used as well as the phytoberry powder. It also contains rooibos tea as a base rather than water or milk, offering additional benefits. You can absolutely add chia to it for the benefit of fiber, added omega 3 fats and protein. You may want to add a bit more liquid due to chia’s thickening properties. Let us know how it turns out!
