In addition to our free running workshops, beginning on March 1st, we invite you to enjoy this delicious smoothie recipe that will help you go the extra mile.

Nutrition plays a vital role in optimizing your performance as a runner and smoothies are one of the most effective ways of fuelling your body with bioavailable nutrient dense foods.

This week we are featuring the recipe for our favourite pre-exercise smoothie. Look out for our favourite post-run recovery and anytime meal replacement smoothie recipes in the weeks ahead.

Pre-Exercise

Best consumed one hour before your run, this smoothie is a high-energy meal that will provide sustained energy and controlled blood sugar during your run.

Green Energizer Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 Banana
1 cup frozen Berries
1 ½ cups Water
2 cups fresh Spinach
1 tbsp. Coconut oil

Directions:

Simply combine these ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth!
