Nature’s Celebrates $240,000 Raised at the 2014 Run or Walk for Southlake!
Friends and Community Leaders Gather to Mark $240,000 Raised In Support of Better Care for Thousands of Local Patients And Their Families!
Nature’s was once again proud to host a group of committed community members, including local volunteers, sponsors, civic leaders and the team from Southlake Foundation, as we celebrated the conclusion of the 2014 Run or Walk for Southlake Regional Health Centre, presented by Nature’s Emporium!
Guests enjoyed freshly baked pizzas nestled amongst an assortment of artisan cheeses, wraps and our creamy organic goat’s milk frozen yogurt, waiting in anticipation to hear the big result.
It takes a community!
Several awards were handed out in recognition of the amazing support shared by volunteers and participants – including the acknowledgement of just over $10,000 raised by a single 10 year old girl, running in her father’s memory. Talk about inspiring!
An event of this magnitude can only happen with the close collaboration of many business partners working together. They too were recognized for their generous contributions to the cause.
We’ll hang it with pride!
As a gesture of appreciation, the Southlake Foundation presented Nature’s President Joe D’Addario and Mary D’Addario, Director of Philanthropy, with a commemorative run t-shirt, framed and signed by the entire organizing team. We’ll hang it with pride!
Yet, that pride only grew further into the evening when Nature’s Emporium was recognized as the winner of this year’s Corporate Team Challenge – recognizing over $5,000 raised through pledges generated both in-store and by individual volunteer run team members. Joe was quick to dedicate the award to the many employees of Nature’s Newmarket and Vaughan, who demonstrated incredible passion and support throughout the fundraising campaign.
Further recognized were the many generous customers of Nature’s Emporium who contributed thousands of dollars during our ‘Southlake Support Shoe’ campaign. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Finally, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived, with the presentation of the big-cheque – which truly lived up to its name!
Applause erupted as the final net total raised – $240,000 – was presented, seen here with Joe, Mary and Guy D’Addario, a fantastic growth over last year’s already exceptional $226,000.
We couldn’t have done it alone!
For all those who took part in the 2014 Run or Walk for Southlake Regional Health Centre, Presented by Nature’s Emporium, this incredible figure represents the crowning achievement of a year’s worth of hard work and dedication. Thanks to your effort, thousands of patients in our local area will continue to receive the life-saving care they and their families depend on. You’ve helped to meaningfully change their lives.
