Miranda’s Picks: Top Performing Natural Deodorants (Sticks, Sprays, Rollers and Creams!)

Sweating can be unpleasant and possibly awkward if you don’t have the right products, so my mission was to round up some of my favourite natural deodorants and antiperspirants.

Yes you read that right: natural antiperspirants!

I personally tested out many brands and my goal was to bust the myth that natural deodorants don’t work. Below you will find the ones that stood out of the crowd for me. With the vast selection of natural products on the market, the key is finding the one that works best for your body and lifestyle. There are deodorant sticks, sprays, rollers and creams.

Stick

Schmidts

Schmidts prioritizes ingredients that are derived from nature. They are committed to staying certified vegan and cruelty free. Schmidt’s products are always free of aluminum, propylene glycol, SLS, PEG, parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrance, artificial flavour, artificial colorants, and artificial sweeteners.

What I thought:

I’m impressed with what this line offers. The scents are unique with a very pleasant smelling aroma. The coconut pineapple smells divine! Each stick offered me consistent protection throughout the day and even after a late night gym sweat session I didn’t have to reapply. They are easy to tuck in a gym bag, purse, or makeup bag.

I tried the following scents:

  • Jasmine Tea
  • Lavender Tips
  • Charcoal + Magnesium
  • Fragrance Free
  • Coconut Pineapple
  • Vanilla Rose

Green Beaver Antiperspirant

Green Beaver’s new generation antiperspirant uses a proprietary natural technology that is clinically proven to provide effective wetness protection. The ingredients that offer this barrier are jojoba, mimosa flower wax esters and other plant extracts. Green Beaver’s aluminum-free antiperspirant is skin-soothing, non-irritating (even after hair removal) and hypoallergenic.

What I thought:

I used this antiperspirant during days where I was more prone to break a sweat – when I was nervous. I was pleasantly surprised by how it kept me dry and there was no residue on my clothes!

I tried the following scents:

  • Freedom
  • Escape

Spray & Roller

Weleda:

Weleda maintains the skin’s natural detoxification process. All products are dermatologically tested and skin-kind. They are free from aluminum salts, synthetic preservatives, fragrances and colourants.

What I thought:

I was equally impressed how this natural deodorant held up while I made my way through busy days and workouts. The scents smelled really good too! I loved that there was no film so I didn’t have to worry about getting it on my clothing. I am more likely to use both the spray and the roller during the summer months, as I am highly sensitive to anything cold under my arms and the sprays did trigger that sensitivity first thing in the morning. This didn’t seem to bother my son who loved the citrus roller ball so much that he has permanently confiscated it from my drawer.

The scents I tried:

  • Wild Rose
  • Sage
  • Citrus
  • Pomegranate

Cream

Routine:

Routine contains only clean, wholesome ingredients. There is no aluminum zirconium, aluminum chlorohydrate, parabens, triclosan, or propylene glycol in any of their products.

What I thought:

I’ll be honest, I was apprehensive at first because I have always been a stick and go kind of gal, but once I got passed the idea of applying it differently a whole deodorant world opened up. Really there’s no difference in applying cream to your face then deodorant to your underarms. With the fun names, lovely smelling scents and long lasting protection, Routine is another great choice to add to your deodorant drawer too.

The scents I tried:

  • Cat Lady
  • Moon Sisters
  • The Curator
  • Super Star

      Thanks for the comment, Tammy!

All of these products are “Miranda’s Picks”, which means that any of them would be suitable to use going forward. It entirely depends on whether you prefer rollons, creams etc.

However, be sure to let us know if you give one of them a try – we’d love to hear your feedback!

I was very happy Schmidts made it on your list. I have recently decided to do away with the synthetic spray antiperspirant I’ve been using for years and go natural. During online research Schmidts was consistently top pick. Currently on the Vanilla Rose train and loviiinng it! It smells great and actually lasts all day. No issues with underarm stains or irritation either. Now I want to hunt down the Pineapple Coconut!
