Nature’s Own Joe D’Addario Helps Kick Off 2014 Mayor’s Cup Challenge!

Civic Leaders Gather As One Community, With One Goal… Your Health!

This morning, Nature’s Emporium President Joe D’Addario joined with a group of enthusiastic regional mayors as they kicked off this year’s Run for Southlake Mayor’s Cup Challenge!

Also on hand (from left-right in the photo above) was Geoffery Dawe (Mayor-Aurora), Virginia Hackson (Mayor-East Gwillimbury), Tony Van Bynen (Mayor-Newmarket), Steve Pellegrini (Mayor-King Township), and Neila Poscente (President & CEO of Southlake Foundation).

Defending champ Mayor Dawe, from Aurora, held onto the trophy pretty tightly as the other Mayors made their own predictions about this year’s winner!

It’s About Team Effort!

The annual Run for Southlake Mayor’s Cup Challenge sees a group of committed community leaders from the York Region face off in friendly competition as they gather with fellow residents and raise money together for a great cause – better care for thousands of local patients and their families!

Past winners include Newmarket and King, with last year’s race being the tightest to date – Aurora sneaked past East Gwillimbury on the very last day of pledging!

Don’t Miss the Run Ahead!

The Mayor’s Cup Challenge culminates this year at the 2014 Run or Walk for Southlake Regional Health Centre presented by Nature’s Emporium. The run is set to take place on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Aurora Community Centre (located at 1 Community Centre Lane, Aurora).

Residents and town staff are welcome to join in to support their own Mayor by joining the Team or pledging for their Team at runforsouthlake.ca

Last year, the Run or Walk for Southlake Presented by Nature’s Emporium attracted more than 1,460 participants and raised over $226,000 in support of priority health care needs for Southlake Regional Health Centre.

We’re looking to bring that number even higher this year, and look forward to the sharing the road to victory with each of you!
