Making Medicines with your Christmas Tree (Newmarket)

December 21, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Cost: $40 – $50

Join us on December 21st 2018 in celebration of the winter solstice. Do you throw your Christmas tree in the garbage bin after the holidays? This workshop is in association with the non profit organization Dream Seed Weave. An impact campaign aimed to inspire us to rethink our connection to the original meaning and symbology of the Christmas tree ritual. Join Jaime Leigh Gianopoulos (filmmaker, photographer, and plant lover) for a three hour workshop & ritual where we will learn to create medicines from the tree. We will learn how to respect each tree as they are not garbage but rather the life line of the planet. We will re-imagine and remember the original meaning of something that can survive the harshness of winter beyond the dominant consumer holiday culture. In this time of climate change and overwhelming global issues we believe in small acts of re-connection and service for the earth. Be ready to dive deep and take home some beautiful handmade medicines and community connections.
